Shorelands - Monmouth Beach, NJ

Shorelands is a section of Monmouth Beach which generally includes the homes on Monmouth Parkway, Navesink Drive, Shrewsbury Drive, The Circle, and the cross streets between them. Many of the homes at the northern end of Shorelands front on the Shrewsbury River, while those on the southern end sit on some of the higher ground in town. Development in the area began in the 1910s and local legend has it that a golf course once covered a good portion of Shorelands, although no evidence of the golf course remains. In recent years, a number of older homes have been taken down and replaced with larger new homes.
